Run Slax from Android
Slax can be basically started from any device which behaves like USB mass storage. Android phones have built-in support for MSC, and I was able to successfully start Slax on my PC from my phone. However it has some little problems which need to be addressed, and for that reason I decided to release an android application, which will help with the task.
Keep in mind that Slax will not run ON your phone, but FROM your phone. Running Slax from Android phone looks like a good idea to me, since I have my phone with me all the time, unlike USB flash drive, and I think there may be other users who will like the idea as well.
I am no android developer, though. So I've found a worker who will do the job according my instructions, and the work has already started yesterday.
The application will:
- download Slax to your phone's SD card
- keep it up to date (update started by user)
- force the phone to remain in MSC mode during PC's reboot
I hope to have usable demo release soon! :)

Good idea - Slax in your pocket.
Though I'd rather do the installation and update steps by hand.
Hopefully this will be open source.

i won't mine testing it sir got 3 different type of generic droid....
Can't wait for it

xwing wrote 28 days ago: "can't wait for the slax4android"
far better to call it "Android SLAX Key" to avoid general user confusion and reserve slax4android for the day that slax is really ported TO "ARM slax" such as to the Ubuntu based dual Cortex A15/quad-core ARM Mali T-604 GPU running at 1.7GHz chrome-book ;)
BTW does anyone know if ARM cortex knows how to PXE netboot (in Android and/or ARM linux) or didn't ARM and Linaro write that 32bit code yet and only 64bit will have it ?

hey I really like slax I hope you can make it run on android by chroot please that would be very awesome innovation

yeah slax on andriod THAT would be very cool. Keep up the efforts guys. We appreciate it even if we dont say it enough. Thanks!!

Hi Tomas,
testing your installer on the ASUS Transformer Prime, it doesn't work.
It seems to me as if it is only working with devices which have an external sdcard
on which they save the downloads. Thus most tablets will not work :(
Connecting the Transformer under Android Jelly Bean doesn't show the downloaded
Slax folder.

p.s. Under which license do you distribute this installer?

Good idea! Good luck! :)
I'm waiting final upshot.
